Jewel

Meet jewel!

I'm Jewel, a girl with an unknown past who landed at a local shelter as a stray. Call me mysterious ;) I’m having a hard time remembering what was before this, but I'm all about embracing the present and looking forward to a better life!

I'm an energetic terrier mix, a sprightly 1 ½ years old, and I tip the scales at a petite 15 lbs! Impressive, I know! Currently, I'm holding down the fort (aka my foster home) alongside a 28lb female dog sibling. I can get along with a friendly small dog in my new family, but you know what? I could also thrive as the shining star, the only pet stealing all the love and attention. Now, about cats – no thanks, that's a hard NO from me. That would be a disaster!

When I first left the shelter, I quickly bonded with my foster mom, but here's the surprise … I soon found that my foster dad gives the best belly rubs! I realized he wasn’t so scary after all! I'm a bit of an alert barker when someone new enters the house, but give me some time, a few meet-and-greets, and I'll warm up to them. I'm at my happiest when I'm with my people, and oh boy, am I a snuggly lap dog once I’m comfy. That’s why I’m seeking cool parents who will allow me on the couch!

To keep myself entertained, I love playing with toys and chews, and I'm pretty treat-motivated. Food puzzles, snuffle mats – bring 'em on! They help engage my senses during the day since I’m fancy like that! What can I say, I like to keep busy!

I’m honing my leash walking skills, am housetrained, and can use a dog door! Yep, that's me, a little smarty!

Given my small size, I'd do best with a family with older children. Due to my shyness, I might not make the best impression during a meet & greet, but I really hope that won't deter people from giving me a chance! I'm in search of special adopters who will be understanding and patient, allowing me the time and space to gradually come out of my shell at my own pace. I’m a total love bug when you’ve earned my trust, I promise!

Jewel’s Adoption Donation is SPONSORED! Includes - spayed rabies dhpp bordatella and chipped.

You might be wondering what “sponsored” means. A dog is sponsored when their foster or a donor loves them so much that they cover the adoption donation for a future adopter. This in hopes that the pup finds his or her forever family ASAP! <3
