Harlie is a spayed black Cairn Terrier mix, approximately 4 years old and about 22 pounds. She has the soft, affectionate temperament often seen in former mama dogs — calm, accommodating, and deeply connected to people. Former moms often make especially wonderful family companions, and Harlie is exactly that kind of dog.
She is currently recovering from spay surgery and doing very well overall. Her energy is easy and relaxed, and she has been very calm around children, settling comfortably into home life. Harlie may be shy for a moment in a new environment, but she is not fearful — once she understands she is safe, her affectionate personality shines.
Harlie truly loves people. She enjoys following her person from room to room, staying nearby, and being part of everyday life. She is extremely affectionate and her favorite things are simple: attention, gentle love, and belly rubs.
She is already bringing many wonderful skills to her future home: great on leash, excellent in the car, potty trained, and easy to handle. She tolerated bathing very well and handled grooming calmly. She also met a cat twice in the shelter office and remained neutral and relaxed, and she does well with other dogs.
Harlie is the kind of dog who does not ask for much — just kindness, consistency, and a home where she can feel included and loved. She would likely thrive in a family, couple, or individual home looking for a gentle companion with a naturally loving nature.
